Sally Shanassy

Teacher

Sally stepped into the world of dance at the age of 5 back in the UK. Here she was fortunate enough to be trained by inspirational teachers such as Judith Hockaday (Judith Hockaday School of Dance) & Denise Yates (Denise Yates of Tanwood). The passion for dance and education these ladies had inspired Sally to pursue a career in teaching. Sally also spent time in the USA where she taught musical theatre and dance and summer camp.

As a performer Sally has appeared in TV adverts and documentaries along with several Musicals in London such as Guys and Dolls. While in the US Sally had the opportunity to play the lead role of “Kathy Seldon” in Singin’ in the Rain.

Sally holds a Bachelor of Arts with honors and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education, ISTD Associate in Tap, Acrobatic Arts teaching qualification along with being a registered teacher with the Rhythworks Program.

Sally is also the Head of Performing Arts at Kolbe Catholic College and feels she is fortunate to spend her days educating young dances. Sally’s goal is to help inspire her students to find the same passion and love for dance and musical theatre that her teachers and mentors installed in her.
